John S. Nehmey, MCR, UDCP, CR, owner/president of Nehmey Construction, Inc., founded the company in 1996. With over 45 years of residential and commercial remodeling experience, John oversees all aspects of Nehmey Construction projects from design through completion. He enjoys the challenge of fine craftsmanship, paying close attention to detail and design with the ability to complete high quality projects while meeting deadlines and customer expectations.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management and Economics from Kent State University. John has extensive training in architecture, engineering, cabinetry, and fine furniture making. In 2020, John completed the NARI Master Certified Remodeler program and earned Universal Design Certified Professional status. He had previously achieved the NARI Certified Remodeler designation in 2004 and he completes additional educational courses to ensure his certification is updated annually.
As the company representative for Nehmey Construction, John has been a NARI Milwaukee member since 2002. He served three years on the association’s board of directors and he currently is Chair of the Home Improvement Shows planning committee. John is also active in the Education & Certification Committee, coordinating and teaching classes as well as speaking at numerous workshops. Through NARI Milwaukee, John received the Certified Professional of the Year award in 2007 and the Gordy Ziglinski “Spirit of Education” award in 2009.
Away from work, John loves to hunt and fish. He has been very active with his children by helping coach their trap shooting, football, basketball, and volleyball teams. In addition, John held the position of Cubmaster for the Boy Scouts and he helped four young men earn the rank of Eagle Scout rank, earning a mentor pin on behalf of these individuals.
Ron Nehmey, John’s brother, coordinates office administration and the company’s marketing activities. Randy Bliss is a hands-on field representative, overseeing all aspects of projects from subcontractor and personnel management to job safety and administration to ensuring customer satisfaction.
Nehmey Construction is a State of Wisconsin Certified Lead Safe remodeling company, as Randy is a state certified lead safe renovator.
